Probabilty, Possibility, Belief: Which and Where?

چکیده
We analyze the difference between imprecision and uncertainty, trying to clarify their difference, in particular when possibility theory is introduced. We compare the applicablity of the various models for uncertainty.

ThNature, components and possibility of moral recalcitrant (Tajarry)
The term "Tajarry" disobedience is a specific behavior that has been studied in the science of the principles of jurisprudence(alemalosul) from different angles, but this issue can also be extended to the field of ethics in such a way that whenever a person acts against a false belief and with the intention to oppose to do with an illusory moral thing is to be a moral recalcitran. The concept ...
متن کاملError Bounds Between Marginal Probabilities and Beliefs of Loopy Belief Propagation Algorithm
Belief propagation (BP) algorithm has been becoming increasingly a popular method for probabilstic inference on general graphical models. When networks have loops, it may not converge and, even if converges, beliefs, Le., the result of the algorithm, may not be equal to exact marginal probabilties. When networks have loops, the algorithm is called Loopy BP (LBP). Tatikonda and Jordan applied Gi...
متن کاملMeasuring Health Belief Model components in adopting preventive behaviors of cervical cancer
Background & Objective: Cervical cancer is the second prevalent women cancer in the world. This cancer is found preventable because of having the prolong time before the appearance, its complications and the available proper screening program and possibility of the primary lesion treatment. Since the Health Belief Model is one of the applicable praxeology model in health education to prevent an...
متن کاملWhat Is Probabilty and Why Does It Matter
___________________________________________ The idea that probability is a degree of rational belief seemed too vague for a foundation of a mathematical theory. It was certainly not obvious that degrees of rational belief had to be governed by the probability axioms as used by Laplace and other prestatistical probabilityst. The axioms seemed arbitrary in their interpretation. To eliminate the a...
متن کاملThe Reasonableness of Possibility From the Perspective of Cox
of the full paper The possibility calculus is shown to be a reasonable belief representation in Cox's sense, even though possibility is formally different from probability. So-called "linear" possibility measures satisfy the equations which appear in Cox's Theorem. General possibility measures encode sets of linear measures, consistent with a method of belief representation based on sets which ...
